I should probably Yelp some of the following but I’m not that inspired. lol!
VIC STEWARTS – For our 16th wedding anniversary dinner, we decided on Vic Stewarts. Great choice! It’s nicely fancy and in town. Very nice!
We went with the jumbo shrinp cocktail for an appetizer and boy were they jumbo! Very tasty. The horse radish in the cocktail sauce was potent and should have been a clue to the horseradish we ordered with our prime ribs.
I would like to drink more wine, specifically red wine and went with the recommendation of our waiter Zack (who was a lovely server, btw, very attentive and nice). I wanted something lighter and fruity and was not disappointed by the La Crema. Delicious! I love how red wine is room temperature and invites lazy sipping. lol!
The caesar salad was tasty. It was a a bit of work (had to cut the lettuce and such) but I think it just made it tastier. The caesar dressing was creamy and very pleasing.
Mrs. Stewart’s cut prime rib and loaded baked potato
I ordered the Mrs. Stewart’s cut of prime rib, medium. It was a bit bloodier than I usually like and I probably should have went with medium well but it was great nonetheless. The meat was savory and juicy. The horseradish (I chose the combination between creamy and straight) almost brought tears to my eyes but brought out the taste of the prime rib to perfection. The baked potato was good. The wine and the prime rib went very well together. A very filling and delicious main entree.
We ordered dessert and they brought out our orders plus a scoop of vanilla ice cream and the above plate. Cute!
I love creme brulee but have only ever had the custard kind. The mocha creme brulee was darn DELICIOUS! It was almost too much to finish it but finish it I did.
I very much enjoyed the food at Vic Stewart’s. It’s not an every week kind of place but is lovely for special occasions or when you’re in the mood for something classy with steak. Our server was helpful and attentive.
I didn’t use the flash when taking pictures out of respect for our fellow diners. I just wish some of our fellow diners were as courteous. My only complaints are these:
“Business casual” does not mean jeans or jean shorts, even if you do live in an agriculture community like Brentwood. If you’re going to wear jeans, make them nice jeans like the cowboys wear (ie George Strait) not obviously well worn, casual wear.
TURN YOUR CELL PHONE OFF!!! A man at the table next to us had his phone go off and the ringtone was loud and obnoxious. He answered it and proceeded to have a conversation with the person on the other line instead of paying attention to his female companion. I might have taken out my cell phone once but I can’t recall. The only electronics I had out was my camera.
I don’t mean to sound snobby but it’s just a little rude when other people aren’t cognizant of their surroundings. But to the credit of the restaurant, everyone was treated courteously and without any condescension.
THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY – Today we decided to leave the house and head out to the tri-valley area. We’ve never been to the Cheesecake Factory, so we ventured to Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton.
The building is striking and just too cute! lol! It’s a great addition to the mall. I loved the decor, very clean and comfortable.
I really just wanted a shot of the bar
We were seated in the bar area, which was fine.
I don’t usually order meatloaf at restaurants but I was hungry and felt confident it would be okay. It was more than okay, it was good! Very warm and filling and tasty.
I couldn’t finish my food (I could have taken what was left home but I didn’t) but that didn’t stop me from wanting some cheesecake. Seriously, how could you go to a place called the Cheesecake Factory without having cheesecake?
Craig’s Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake
Wow, YUMMY!!! The husband isn’t a big fan of cheesecake but he couldn’t stop saying how good the carrot cake cheesecake tasted. Good thing I let him choose the cheesecake, eh? lol!
After lunch we walked the mall. I bought some stuff at Bath and Body Works (yah!). We also hit the comic book shop on the way home but left empty handed. A nice way to spend the afternoon…
