poem #1
higher and higher
ever out of reach
never close enough
rising fast
yearning to be free
poem #2
this touch so soft
a little sweet
yet promising fire
longing deep
oh how can I
resist such a treat
poem #3
take one breath
one moment
made just for this
FRIDAY – We went to Pleasant Hill for the 4th. It’s sort of become a tradition of sorts with the cousins and it’s pretty awesome. Good food, good company, then fireworks as seen from the hill behind the house. I must remember to bring pants for the night time festivities because of the mosquitoes. Yikes! Otherwise, it was a lovely way to spend the evening. I always love seeing my cousins and their kids, as well as family friends.
I brought corn from Brentwood and it was DELICIOUS!!! I should have had more but I was so full from eating all the before dinner snacks and appetizers. Oh well!
I need to remember to do more panoramic shots. The one above was done while we were getting ready to watch the fireworks. It’s a steep walk up the hill and a careful walk down. But the view is worth it. And there’s something about being under the stars that just brings the soul a bit of peace.
