TWITL – week twenty-three – fun in the sun

It was such a lovely week, weather-wise. We had a couple of days where it was actually cool enough to not run the a/c after work. Amazing! Of course, now it’s warming up again. The forecast says that we’ll have triple digits by the end of the week. Yikes!

Our Saturday started with corn hole. The hubby was playing in a tournament. They actually won a game! It was sunny and bright and I got a bit too much sun. Maybe I should have said yes to the invitation to sit under one of the tents because I was super heated when we departed. I need to take my own advice and WEAR SUNSCREEN when I know I’ll be out in the sun for awhile. This was my first time using my new Yeti. Yes, that’s a custom logo I created. I think it’s pretty spiffy!

After corn hole, we headed to a birthday party for our friends’ six year old. It was a pool party! No, I did not swim. But I did sit poolside with my legs in the pool. It felt so lovely! Good times watching the kids swim and make lots of noise. Everyone is so nice and it’s always creating hanging out with them.

MOVIES

Freaky – Bought this awhile back on digital and finally watched it. I enjoyed it! It was funny and scary and rather well done. If you like your horror with bits of humor, this one is definitely a great watch.

Shadow and Bone

TV

Shadow and Bone – (Netflix) – We started watching this one. We have two more episodes to watch. I LIKE IT. I knew I would. We’re going to finish the series before I finish the second book but I don’t mind. I’m enjoying all the characters, even the ones I don’t know. I like that I know the basic premise and I don’t mind the plotlines that I didn’t read in the books (notably the Crows). And yes, Ben Barnes is definitely fantastic to watch as General Kirigan aka The Darkling.

Evans

Chris Evans is 40! Hope he had a great birthday weekend.

HBD Sully

And Sully is now 44! Looks like he had a good birthday weekend, capped with getting the vaccine. GOOD FOR HIM.

looking up

Tyler has a show in Folsom in July and I was able to snag tickets! I’m so glad that our first post-lockdown show is Tyler. I hope we get to say hey to him and we can take pictures together and all of that. It’ll be great to see any friends that end up going as well…

We had our first Tovala meals this week. The food has been tasty and filling so far and it’s pretty cool cooking in their oven. One of these days, I’ll have to warm up some leftovers in it to taste the difference between it and the microwave…

My List is in flux right now. I like shaking it up from time to time. I think I have the top six figured out (yes, six) and now it’s about the order. Who is number one? Who is number six? Who moved up? Who was added? You’ll never know.

Shadow and Bone

Wear your mask, wash your hands, keep your distance, and get that vaccine when you can. Being able to hang out with people again is truly fantastic.
