TWITL – week twenty-seven – staycation

It’s Thursday, July 7th, as I begin this post. I probably won’t post it until Saturday or Sunday but I thought I’d start it and then clean it up before I click that “publish” button.

After I wrote that paragraph, I didn’t write again until now, Saturday the 9th.

popcorn for the movie...

Top Gun: Maverick [in theatres] – I saw this movie on Tuesday morning in one of the smaller auditoriums at the AMC. First off, Tom Cruise still looks good. Does he not age? Second, I get why Miles Teller has that rather hideous mustache and I got used to it after awhile. Third, I enjoyed the movie and probably rank it in my top five of the year so far. (RRR and Elvis and Thor: Love and Thunder are the only movies ahead of it, off the top.) The flying sequences were freakin’ awesome. The plot was simple but interesting. There was a nice touch of nostalgia and I did cry a couple of times during the movie…

The Princess [Hulu] – I love it when the girls are the kickass characters in movies. This one took the damsel in distress and made her the hero of her own story. Great action sequences. Definitely recommend it…

Thor: Love and Thunder [in theatres] – I saw this one on Thursday afternoon in the Dolby Cinema auditorium. No one sat next to me (YES!) and I drank my water at a good pace so as not to have to get up during the movie. Oh, and how did I like the movie? Well, I like it so much that I’m going to watch it again on Sunday, in IMAX. I loved the humor, the action, the pull of the heart strings. I love how they brought Jane Foster back. Thor has grown so much as a character and I loved seeing that too. And oh my goodness, I want to talk about that mid-credits scene but I can’t. And the end credit scene was good too but I can’t talk about that one either. It’s sort of killing me. And I’m IMPRESSED that the one cameo was not leaked. It was so good… Where do I rank this as far as the Thor movies? Well, it’s ALMOST sharing the top spot with Thor: Ragnarok, which is my favorite Thor movie. Maybe it’ll top it after the second viewing. I think the fact that I want to see it again just mere days after the first time means that there’s something about the movie.

Also, Chris Hemsworth = <3

Thor: Love and Thunder

Besides going to the theatre to watch movies, I did not do very much during my week off from work. Glorious! I did watch RRR again (and you should watch it too, if you haven’t already). I cleaned the bathrooms. Oh, and I did a bunch of laundry. So I wasn’t a total lazy bum the whole time. Good for me.

And now a little more today…

yeah, saw Thor: Love and Thunder again

I saw Thor: Love and Thunder again today (Sunday), this time in IMAX. And I probably love it even more. Still not quite same level of love as Thor: Ragnarok but definitely above the first two Thor movies. This showing had a healthy amount of movie goers, which is always great to see. I think I prefer the movie in the Dolby Cinema auditorium. Maybe I’ve fallen for the hype of the screen having better clarity. And the sound definitely rocks in the Dolby Cinema. Is it weird I want to see it again? I want the hubby to see it so we can talk about that mid-credit scene…

And new shirt!
