Road Trip to Arizona
Our road trip to Arizona began on 15 February 2002. Before we left, I found out that Kevin Tod Smith had died. When the moments were quiet and I was driving, my thoughts alternated between the desert scenery and memories of Kevin. Once in Phoenix, I couldn't help but think, "This was the place of Kevin's last convention appearance." How strange it seemed to be there, the place he last gave cheer to his American fans...
We actually found a Fry's Electronics during our exploration of the Phoenix area. When we came out, the skies were fiery from the sunset and I took a couple of shots...
One of things I remember about Kevin is that he liked his beer. ;) Everytime I have a drink, I give a silent cheer to him. We only met a couple of times, but he has touched my life and I will never forget him. I only wish I had told him "thank you" for all that he was...
The weekend flew and we were on our way back home before we knew it. The picture on the right is just as we're getting to the California border...
Shots from the California road on our way back to the Bay Area. I liked Phoenix and perhaps wouldn't have minded living there, but it was very good coming back home...
