Our district has started Fall Break. Glorious! Even though I’m not off for break, I can take days here and there, which I will definitely do. I am taking three days off, strategically placed. 😉
My niece has verbally committed to Stanford University!
My sister told me on Friday, while we were waiting for the Homecoming Parade to start. I was SO EXCITED. I am still so excited! I had to wait until Sydnee announced it on her IG, which she did after I published last week’s blog post. It was so hard to sit on it but once she announced it, I just had to share to my IG story. And I’ve been telling friends and co-workers because I am so proud of her! And I am so proud of my sister and brother-in-law for raising such a wonderful and intelligent and talented young woman. It is so wonderful to be able to share some positive news.
It’ll be great to have Sydnee so close. We will probably go out for a lot of her home games because OF COURSE. Must be supportive and I cannot wait to be able to show our support for her and the women’s lacrosse team. You can be sure that I will be gearing up in Stanford apparel. It’ll be hard to wait until she at least graduates from high school. She’s class of 2027, so it’ll be a couple of years before she’s living out on the west coast.
MUSIC
Leaving California by Tyler Rich has dropped! You can find it at your favorite music streaming service. Give it a spin, my lovelies! I made a playlist of Hello California and Leaving California since they are the two parts of the whole. I made the playlist my sleepytime tunes and had a good night of sleep. The songs are really good! There’s even a cover– “Comedown” by Bush. It’s pretty cool. 😀
I’ve been listening to Mackenzie Carpenter’s album Hey Country Queen. I am trying to broaden my country music listening with female artists. We saw Mackenzie at the Jordan Davis show and I wish that I had known her songs before we saw her because I am so digging what I’m hearing now! She has a great voice and her songs are very pleasing to the ear. Give her a spin!
DREAMS
The other night, I dreamt that I was friends or something with Michael Fisher aka The Mr. Mobile and we were hanging out. No other details, just us perhaps hanging out and talking tech stuff because if I could hang out with him, that’s what we would be talking about– tech and such.
I think that same night, I also dreamt that I was meeting up with Meghan Sussex. Somehow I got to take a nap with her and Prince Harry. I don’t even know what that’s all about! In my dream, she was super kind and sweet. Harry just wanted snuggles so we all took a nap together. I know, it’s SO WEIRD. At some point in the dream, someone honked outside and Meghan said it was his father, trying to get him to go to some event that he already decline. And I thought, what, I’m going to maybe meet King Charles?! I did not, as it was just “his people” who were coming by to try and convince Harry to attend. Towards the end of the dream, I knew I was in a dream and trying to figure out where I was imagining myself…
It’s Sabina’s birthday as I write (September 28th). Of course I posted on my IG story because that’s what I do. I was also able to send a personal message to her. I kinda love that. She’s so lovely. The California Collection from Cowboy Tears is live, if you’re feeling like supporting this beautiful soul’s business. 😉
The random stuff…
- We went to farmers market on Saturday! I had my corn in a cup (well, container) and a couple of mimosas. The weather is finally cooling down a little and it was lovely being out for a little bit towards the end of the famers market.
- Criminal Minds was on sale at iTunes and we bought it. Now we’re watching the episodes a few at a time. The show still holds up so far.
- Riley Green has a fall collection up. I am currently resisting even though there’s a cap that I wouldn’t mind having. Why must it be $50?! I’m annoyed by this temptation for my wallet. Darn you, Riley Green, darn you.
- I’m going caseless for my Z Flip 7. For now. It’s so pretty without the case. And I do have the coverage on it, so if anything happens, I’m covered.
Now it’s time for bed. Hopefully work is mostly chill on the days I’m there in the next two weeks. And cooler weather would be super cool too…
