As I write, it’s only Friday. I probably won’t post this until Sunday or Monday but I thought I’d start it since my laptop is open and there’s a cool breeze coming through the open sliding door. I’m listening to my OPM playlist on YT Music. Right now, it’s “o ninanais” by Arthur Nery. Very slow jam R&B. I understand some of the lyrics but it doesn’t matter because oddly enough, it feels like comfort music to me. Who knew!
This past Wednesday was my outgoing supervisor’s last day at work. I only saw her for the last part of my workday and when I left, she was cleaning out the rest of her stuff in her office. Part of me is still in a sort of denial that I won’t see her at work anymore. I wish she had been with us for longer but I am truly grateful that we had her for as long as we did. I am very much going to miss her. I’m glad that we’re all still keeping in touch with her. Hopefully our group chat stays active.
This past Wednesday, we also go to spend a few hours with our incoming supervisor. I sat with her for a bit before my other two co-workers joined us. The new one has a great energy and approachability that I think many will appreciate. It will be a smooth transition, I think, from the outgoing to the incoming. We’ll all have to learn each other but so it always goes, right?
TV/MOVIES
A Minecraft Movie – This one has hit the streamers! It’s super silly and over the top but entertaining.
Murderbot – I am really enjoying this show so much! I really wish the episodes were longer. Just another ten minutes each episode would be cool.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency – We had to turn on the VPN to watch this one. It was such a weird but fun show. It was only two seasons and I wish it had gotten at least one more season. At least it ended with the major questions of the season answered. It was nice seeing Aleks Paunovic in it! When he came on screen, R said, “There’s your friend.” Awww!
Dept Q – We just started watching this one and I like it! Let’s see how long it takes for us to watch it. 😉
I’m not of mind to speak much about the world at large, especially the issues of a political nature. I doubt anyone who happens upon my little corner of cyberspace cares what my perspective is. If you know me personally, you should know. If you don’t know me personally and only base your perception on what I write (or don’t write), then maybe you don’t know. Suffice to say that although I do not claim a political party, I most obviously lean left. It’s not a surprise, is it?
Isn’t the world crazy enough without starting unnecessary crap? You know exactly what I mean.
So I will take my joy where I can and share that joy whenever possible. This doesn’t mean that I don’t know what’s going on in the world, that I don’t have an opinion about it. It just means that I will not contribute to the rage. Just so you know.
We watched The Warning’s set at Hell Fest, which led me to buy their latest album, Keep Me Fed. Their one song, “More,” has a sound that reminds me of another song and it didn’t take me too long to fall on a-ha’s song “I’ve Been Losing You.” I like both songs! So now both songs are on my latest playlist because why the heck not?
I want to broaden my music listening even though I’m very much still into Riley Green. I’d like to listen to other genres. Maybe I’ll get back to OPM. Hmmm…
