Here we are in 2026.
I worked the last day of 2025, which I haven’t done in a few years. I managed to do the easy part of the SARC before leaving for the day. Did I say to anyone, “See you next year?” Hmm, maybe. 😉
The nice part about working during break is that the dress code is nicely casual. It was cold enough outside for me to go with jeans and a hoodie each day. Sweet!
On January 1st, we had a cousins hangout in Pleasant Hill. I didn’t take any pictures of us! How is that possible? Hopefully our next time together. It was nice to hang out. We ate, we drank, we talked. It was actually a lovely way to start the new year and the long weekend.
Friday was a lazy day (yah!) and Saturday was a few hours in San Leandro then back home to watch the Niners at our local.
During our drive on Vasco, we saw a rainbow. It was rather lovely with the green hills and the blue skies with scatterings of clouds. The drive is getting old but at least it’s scenic. When we left San Leandro and were driving up Manor, there was another rainbow to be seen.
Our weekly visits to San Leandro will be coming to an end soon. It wasn’t going to last forever and part of me was relieved. When it’s over, it’ll be another big change in life. The house where I grew up will no longer be home to our family. It’ll be a house that will need to be emptied until all that we know of it will be memories. There will be so much to go through.
TV
Stranger Things – It’s ended! I personally like the way this show ended. It was just right. And it’s funny to think that the characters are the same age as me. (They graduated the same year as I did!)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians – I really enjoy this show. It makes me want to re-read the books. Maybe that’s what I’ll do this year.
The House of Guinness – We binged this show and I liked it! Period pieces can be fun and lo, about Guinness? Yes, please! This show is well done and I hope there’s a second season because they left it on a huge cliffhanger.
The Copenhagen Test – Ohhh, this one was good. Love seeing Simu Liu in stuff and he was good in this one. Definite recommend!
- We have two important dates coming up. They’ve been calendared and OMG, so exciting! It almost doesn’t feel real.
- No real resolutions except to read more and eat in more (less Door Dash!). Oh, and drink more water.
- I wonder what new story I’ll write this year. I do need to finish the November 2024 novel.
Well, it’s almost bed time and I have some laundry to fold, so I’ll end this here. So goes week one of 2026. 😉
