Even though it was a short work week, it felt like a regular week but longer. How is that possible? The weather stayed cool to cold aka perfect winter weather. Thank goodness we’re not experiencing the crazy winter weather that’s going on right now. Yowsa!
TV/MOVIES
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy – I am really enjoying this show. It’s perhaps a little YA in the writing but it’s still very entertaining. The latest episode featured the prank wars. It’s so interesting to see Starfleet less polished because of the Burn and such. I think some of the criticisms of the show seem to forget WHEN we are in the Star Trek universe. Just sayin’.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians – The second season has ended and I already want more! The third season is set to premiere this year but what does that mean? “This year” could be December 2026. I want to know! The last episode of the season was good, of course. Love seeing Poseidon (ahhh, Toby Stephens) and the new face of Zeus (welcome Courtney B. Vance) but I did miss Lance Reddick. Alas. Maybe I should read the books before the next season starts…
John Wick – It’s been ages since I’ve watched this movie and lo, it definitely holds up. Unabashedly violent and action packed. I forgot a lot of the movie so it felt semi-new watching it again. It’s still really good.
- Went downtown on Saturday afternoon, after farmers market. So no corn in a cup but I did have an Old Fashioned at Crown and Crow and a Pinot Noir at CoCo Wine Company. Oh, then the hummus board at Brentwood Craft Beer and Cider.
- I don’t say much about the world at large but WTF. Believe your eyes not the lies. And that’s all I’ll say about that.
- I re-read/skimmed the November novel I wrote in 2020. Hmm, that one could do with some editing but I still like it. Chris Evans played the main fella in that story. 😉
- The “tile walk” was short and I should have taken more pictures. Next big day is February 17th.
- Watching the Rams v Seahawks game and I think it’s not going to go the way I prefer. But we shall see.
WRITING
I am rather uninspired right now, story-wise, but I did start a story a few weeks back called, “The One Before The One.” It’s a sort of prequel to another story I haven’t finished, working title “Worst Way.” (Oh, guess who plays the fella in that one.) Not sure how to handle “The One Before The One” since it’s not a romance proper story but I still want to write it. It could have steamy elements and starts with a song. I should just write it…
The Old Fashioned yesterday was so good. Just had to say it. 🙂
