24 August – lundi
- It’s already Monday. The weekend went by so fast. Maybe it’s because we didn’t leave the house. Could be it, right?
- Trade-in complete! My Z Flip7 is no longer mine. We successfully brought it in to complete the trade. I hope it finds a new home and enjoys a second life out there. Maybe it make fun calls and take great photos. ๐
- After our stop to T-Mobile, we picked up food from In-N-Out. YUM.
- Work was all right. One of my first phone calls of the morning was from a parent checking status on a transfer request. I was literally working on prepping the reviewed transfers for notification when this parent called and apparently she didn’t like that I wouldn’t give her an update on her request. She asked me why I was being snappy and if I liked my job because I was being rude, etc. ::sigh:: She asked for my manager’s name then went off on me. I ended up wishing her a good day then I ended the call. What a way to start my Monday morning!
25 August – mardi
- As much as I LOVE reading my celebrity gossip blogs, sometimes I think they get too deep into the lives of the celebrities. The judgement can get to be a bit much. Y’all don’t know why the Sussexes are TEMPORARILY moving to the UK. Let them be. They’ve shown themselves smart enough to navigate their lives. They’re allowed their missteps, if this is even one, and we’re just here to observe. Wish them well and wish them sharp eyes and be done with it.
- The parent who went off on me yesterday emailed my boss. It’s going to be fun if I have to schedule a meeting to come to our office. ๐
- I found what is probably my first fountain pen the other day. The ink was long gone so I ordered replacement ink cartridges and they arrived today. I probably should have cleaned the nib before replacing the ink but the pen works! It’s a Waterman and the nib is a bit more medium than I prefer but hey, it’s cool it still works!
- I’m listening to Riley Green now. “My Way” is the song.
Dolly Parton passed away today. The world lost a little of its glow as she took her last breath. She leaves behind such a legacy and though much of it is known, there are probably a million moments plus one that none of us will know. Maybe some of her magic will awaken those good bits still in the world…
26 August – mercredi
- Happy Birthday, Donald!
- It’s after work. We haven’t had dinner yet. Soon? We’ll see.
- Tim Curry died yesterday. ALAS! His body of work was so vast yet I remember him as the baddie in the McHale’s Navy movie, which is one of my guilty pleasures. I love that movie! Now I want to watch it.
27 August – jeudi
- It’s morning. I have about five minutes before I have to get up and start getting ready for work.
- I’m already thinking about my November novel. First, am I going to write one? If yes, then what am I going to write? The choices:
- A romance – the easiest but also a way to hone my skills. Maybe give myself a goal of 60K or 70K words in the month. I’ve written that many words in previous November novels. I bet I could do it again.
- Sci-fi epic – the stories from Delvor. My only November novel set in the Delvor system wasn’t so bad. I should write about the sister planet as a sort of mirror. I started that story long ago but haven’t written it in a long time. Alas!
Hmm, and that’s it. Romance or sci-fi. Interesting. I’ll probably end up writing another romance but if so, then who plays the MMC?
I could also just take a break from the November writing. We shall see…
- We had our “Welcome Back to School” luncheon today. We played BINGO and I won the very last round. YAH! I got the last prize, a succulent. Hopefully I don’t kill it. I’ve set it next to my other work plants, so I’m sure to water it once in awhile. ๐
- “Mess” by Jordan Davis has got me HOOKED. Loving the sexy moodiness of it. Rarr.
- My work laptop is all set! I was the only one in my department who didn’t have one but I do think it’ll come in handy for meetings and such. It’s a Dell Pro 16 laptop. It has a numpad. I don’t know when the last time I had a numpad on my laptop. Crazy! Of course, it’s not as nice as my personal laptop but it’ll be good to not do work things on my MacBook Air.
28 August – vendredi
- Happy Birthday, Sydnee!
- It looks like it’s going to rain. No sunshine yet and the air has a muggy but cool feel to it. I have my window open here at home and the house fan on, so I’m getting a very nice breeze.
- In my head, Kacey Musgraves’ song “Mexican Honey” is repeating. But I don’t know all the words so it’s really just bits and pieces.
- And now it’s the weekend! The last Friday of August. We’ve almost made it through the month! I tell ya, August is the LONGEST month of work. School starts, we get no built in holidays. It’s kinda brutal, to be honest.
- The new case for my Z Fold8 delivered today! It’s so thin but I’m digging it. It’s a Thinborne and it feels premium.
29 August – samedi
- I’ve already done a load of laundry. Score!
- Just posted my review of the Galaxy Z Fold8. I shared it to all my socials but Facebook. The ones who know me IRL can visit my site or read this post. Not sure who actually reads my blog posts. I don’t think blog posts in general are in fashion. A bit of a shame, if you ask me.
- And what is this about Tom Hardy rapping as Frankie Pulitzer? LORD. Now, I do remember back in the day, when I was in the giddy stages of my Tom Hardy adoration, I learned he had rapped in his youth. But I don’t think I heard but one or two bits. Well, now he has a collab that released yesterday. I listened to a couple of songs. SO INTERESTING.
30 August – dimanche
- My Clicks Power Keyboard delivered today! I’ve got it connected to my iPhone and my Z Fold8. I ordered it back in March and life has changed so much since then. I’m hopefully going to use it more than my actual Clicks keyboard. ๐
TV/MOVIES
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe – I am so digging this show! I love the weekly adventures and wondering who might cameo from TBBT. So much fun!
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – This week’s episode had the Enterprise in a dire situation. It was so fantastical but I’m glad it wasn’t super tragic. I didn’t want to cry!
Lanterns – We just finished watching tonight’s episode. Yes for some backstory on John Stewart! Nicely done.
Disclosure Day – I didn’t start the beginning but it sounded interesting so I started somewhere in the middle, I think. It wasn’t too bad. I’m glad it wasn’t gloomy. And it’s always nice to see Colin Firth.
Supergirl – First watch at home for this one. I still like it.
And that’s a wrap on the week. I need to fold some clothes. ๐
