what if I wrote everyday

10 August – lundi

  • It was humid today but it’s supposed to be cooler in the coming days. I’ll just be happy when it’s cool enough for me to have the bedroom window open when we sleep.
  • Watched a recap of the season finale of House of the Dragon. I hope the show doesn’t take too long to come back.
  • I gossiped with one of my co-workers about the work drama. It was nice to share.
  • Happy Birthday to Kristen!
  • Received B’s graduation card today. Cannot believe she’s out of high school and on her way to college. Time flies!
  • I’m going to miss the flex mode of my Z Flip7 for those selfies I like to take of myself.
  • The new phone is supposed to deliver tomorrow. I AM GETTING EXCITED! I ordered a case for it but I’ll be on the hunt for another, I’m sure.
me at work

11 August – mardi

  • It’s my morning time in front of my computer. I’ve finished my French lesson on Babbel and I’m reveling in the cool air being sucked in while the house fan runs. It’s supposed to be cooler today, thank goodness.
  • My new phone is in Oakley, preparing to go out for delivery. Sweet!
  • Happy Birthday to Sheilah!
  • Happy Birthday to Shianne!
  • Happy Birthday to Lily!
  • (So many August birthdays!)
  • I’ll write more after work. Maybe. I’ll try to at least post a photo. ๐Ÿ˜‰
two phones
  • I’ve been having fun in these first few hours with my new phone. It’s pretty spiffy! First impressions:
    • The Z Fold8 feels light compared to the Z Flip7, which feels more solid. The Z Fold8 feels good in the hand and reminds me of those Blackberry days.
    • It was easy to transfer the needed details from the Flip to the Fold. Gotta LOVE technology.

12 August – mercredi

  • Happy Birthday to Charles Mesure! Just went on Twitter and DM’d him my bday wishes. He’s one of the reasons I still have a Twitter account. ๐Ÿ˜›
  • Can’t wait to see how my new phone does in my daily life! Of course, it’s not my main phone so it won’t get all the same notifications and such that my iPhone does. I want to take pictures and compare them to my iPhone. I know I will definitely miss the flex mode and using the Flip as a sort of tripod or stand for itself when take selfies. Otherwise, I think I’m going to love this phone.

13 August – jeudi

  • Happy Breelyn!
  • My new case arrived! It’s okay. I don’t think it’s my forever case for the Z Fold8 but it’ll do for now. Maybe. The hinge cover is a bit annoying if the phone has been open for an extended time. I might just give in and buy the Samsung case. We’ll see.
  • Work is FINALLY calming down a little but I still don’t have time to file. When I file, that means I’ve gotten to a more restful phase. Hope it’s coming soon.

  • Jordan Davis has a new song out, “Mess,” and I liked it halfway through my first listen. Of course I bought it because that’s the kind of fan I am. Oh, and Jacob Davis is one of the writers (along with Jordan and others), so that means it’s going to be a hit, right?
  • The Script’s new album is out! I’m listening to it now. The User’s Guide to Being Human is an interesting title for an album, eh? Sometimes I wonder why I’m so caught by them. It’s been years at this point.

14 August – vendredi

  • I’m calling my Z Fold8 “Ravenstar” for now. I want it to be a temporary name but what if it sticks? I sort of want a dragon name for the device since my Flip 7 was named after a direwolf but I can’t settle on one. Do I go Fourth Wing or House of the Dragon or something else entirely? Or maybe the phone will just Ravenstar. We shall see.
  • It’s cool enough outside right now for me to think that wearing jeans today will be a good idea. Let’s see how that works out! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • Among this weekend’s chores– making sure my photos and videos on the Flip 7 are transferred over to my external drive. Even though I upload all my media to Flickr, it’s still a good idea to have all of that stuff elsewhere. You know, just in case. If Google hadn’t been such a pill about their free service, I’d also save to Google. Oh well.
yummy!

  • And now it’s Friday night. I watched three or four YouTube videos on the Z Fold8 and cases. I still haven’t seen a case that has really caught my eye. I suppose I’ll be hanging with my current one for awhile.
  • Short work vent… Coming in or calling or even emailing me about whatever your concerns are TAKES ME AWAY from working on those concerns. It seems like every time I set myself to start something that needs to be done, some one comes in, someone calls, someone emails me, and I have to stop to deal with it. It’s getting ridiculous. Please, just STOP.

15 August – samedi

  • Listening to The Script’s new album. It’s still lovely enough outside to have the window wide open to let in the light and intermittent whiff of cool air.
  • Emptied out one of the boxes in my room but there’s still so much more to do. I’m thinking I need to move the clothes from the bureau to my baby dresser but I need to clean out my baby drawer. Hmm, I should do that now…
  • Nope, didn’t move the clothes.
  • I transferred all the photos and videos to an external drive from my Z Flip 7. I’m a little sad. It is such a cute phone! I’m sure I’m going to miss having it but since it’s not going to get used, at least it’ll be useful one last time as a trade-in. Still, so pretty.
I'll miss ya
it was fun while it lasted
  • Nymeria the Z Flip 7 is no more. Alas! Logged out of all my accounts and set the phone back to the factory settings.
  • The more I use the Z Fold8, the more I wish it was my main phone. We went out earlier today for drinks and a pickup at Best Buy. I kept my iPhone in my purse and used my Z Fold8 for taking a picture of my drink and posting it to Untapped. I also plugged the phone in to the car to play music. My screen protector arrived and it’s on. Now I want to carry the phone without the case but I know that would be unwise, given my random clumsiness. Still, it’s so tempting.

16 August – dimanche

  • Happy Birthday Ashley!
  • The most productive thing I’ve done so far today is a load of laundry. ๐Ÿ™‚
  • I ordered more shampoo and more batteries for my point and shoot cameras. I have two Sony cameras that are a bit rinky dink but they still work so why not utilize them? Even though they’re slow (so slow compared to smartphones nowadays), they still function and maybe it’s just a reminder to be more mindful.

almost time to say goodbye to this one
such a pretty phone
  • I don’t know how long I’m going to rock the cheap case on my Z Fold8. It’s fine for now but such a premium phone should be in a premium case, don’t you think? Nothing has really stood out for me and the ones that spark me a bit are so expensive. Darn it! I want to be able to use MagSafe so that means a case for sure. It’s a fun (?) dilemna to have.

I think I like how this week’s post went along. I wrote something everyday, even if it was a small thing and I tried to show a photo or two along the way. I didn’t have to sit here on Sunday afternoon and think, “What to write?” I just wrote during the week and now here we are. If I don’t want to say much more, I can just hit publish. ๐Ÿ˜‰

TV

House of the Dragon – Last week’s season ender was quite a thing. So much going and I was glad at some of the deaths. They were spectacular and wild, I tell ya. It’s such a well done show but something feels amiss for me. Not sure what it is but I do like watching it.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe The Big Bang Theory is one of our comfort shows. We can turn it on and just chill. This spinoff has been an utter treat, especially if you’ve watched lots of episodes of TBBT (or continue to re-watch them, as is the case for us). I love how the SFTSTU is filled with Easter eggs but is so much fun as is. Love it! So glad to see they’ve been renewed for a second season. Sweet!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – I’ve been enjoying the season but I think I’m just easy for it. This latest ep was very noir and I liked the focus on Una. It was gorgeous on the eyes and the story of the episode was well done. I’ve honestly liked most of the episodes this season.

Lanterns – Okay, I’m hooked from the pilot. Can’t go wrong with Kyle Chandler (who is aging quite nicely, TYVM) and Aaron Pierre is rather mesmerizing. Can’t wait to see where the season takes us!

playing like I'm a Samsung knight

I meant to finish Iron Flame by this weekend but alas, I haven’t. It’s been nice having someone to talk with about the book, which I like well enough except the FMC keeps irritating me with her immaturity. She was so better written in the first book. I hope she improves after the second book but we shall see.

My writing has stalled. I think it usually does this time of year. I can’t even think of what I want to write for November but I figure something will come to me in the next few weeks. We all know how much I love pushing myself to write that November novel. It’s one of my writing joys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This room of mine needs more work. I’m being so lazy about it but I feel like I can take my time, so why not?

Be well, my gentle reader. May each day spark even a bit of joy…
