This time I wasn’t alone seeing Superman. I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time. We watched it in IMAX. What non-spoilery things can I say?
- I appreciate the just about two hours run-time. I know I used to love the longer movies but as I get older, I think I just want tight stories under two and a half hours. This is good thing for watching movies at the theatres.
- The brighter palette of the movie is most welcome. It’s nice not having to squint during scenes that are too dark.
- Krypto’s antics made me giggle.
- The chemistry between Lois and Clark is just right.
- The squirrel!
- I’d love to watch the movie again in the theatre but not sure that it’ll happen…
My new supervisor started this week and she had to jump right into it. I got access to her calendar and it’s already filling up. She has so many things on the horizon as well as all the prep before the start of school. I’m sure it’s a bit dizzying.
We got new phones at our desks to go along with the updates to our computers to Windows 11. This week we also got new copiers. They might look slicker than our old ones but why does it now take five or six steps for something that took like three steps? Why is there no eco-stapling like the old machine? Now if I let the machine staple, it’ll be with regular staples? In the short time we’ve had the machine, I’ve had it jam when I was testing the feeder for making copies and it’s also jammed during output. What the freakin’ hell? Seriously.

Game of Thrones – The blu-ray of the complete season was on sale during Amazon Prime Days so it became ours. We started re-watching the show and are now on season three. The show definitely holds up and it looks great on blu-ray. The colors are gorgeous, the darker scenes seem light enough to for us to see. Watching it again makes me want to read the books again.
ETA: We’re now on season four! We’ve gotten to Prince Oberyn (forgot how sensual he was!) and lo, the end of Joffrey’s reign– HUZZAH!
ETA: And we’re now at the beginning of season 6! The previous seasons were well lit but we’ve noticed that season 6 scenes are unnecessarily dark in some places. Grrr.
I mean to post this entry sooner but on Sunday, my Z Flip 5 decided that I should have taken off the inner screen protector sooner.
I swear, I did not do anything but flip open the phone. The screen protector had started to bubble until it basically was unstuck at the hinge. When it was working, I’d hear a little crack but never thought to take off the screen protector. Well, I think the part of it that was still sticking to the screen was probably pulling on it? I dunno. It just seems like such bs that the screen gave itself up like that. It had to be because of the screen protector. SUCKS!!!
My new phone is on its way so I’ve been rocking just my iPhone this week so far and it’s been WEIRD. I’ve gotten used to having two phones! I almost never forget my Flip nowadays. Oh, I think it’s been since we’ve moved. Interesting. So yes, I’m a one phone person right now and it’s an odd feeling. Even though the Flip is very secondary, I was trying to consider it my “weekend phone” by having it out on the weekends for photos and such. Maybe the next one.
SAMSUNG GALAXY Z FLIP 7
My short take, for now, is that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is pretty cool. I feel like my iPhone will always be my primary phone but this Flip 7 is just so very cool. The crease is even less obvious, compared to the Z Flip 5. The bigger cover screen looks great and maybe I’ll use it more. I’ve certainly had fun finding videos to show off as my cover screen wallpaper of sorts. So pretty!
When the phone is open, it reminds me of my iPhone 14 Pro Max. The bigger screen is very nice. It feels like a regular phone when it’s open and such a delight when it’s closed. I had to get a case for it but I do wish I could carry the phone without it. The color – Blue Shadow – is so lovely. I have a clear case for it, so at least I can enjoy the color. I might have to look for something better.
I do want to name my phone. My previous phone was Beaudoin, for reasons. I feel like I’m going to name this new phone something Game of Thrones since we’re re-watching the show.
We had convocation at Freedom High School this year. It feels like forever since I’ve been in their gym. It was a nice morning and a nice way to start Friday. It had been a rather trying week and even though I could say I’m glad it’s over, I know it’s going to be just as stressful as school starts.
