cooling down

19 October – lundi

  • Song: “Runs in the Family” Riley Green
  • I wrote the above line before work and couldn’t think of what to write next because I wrote just a minute before I had to get up and get ready for work. Oops!

  • I forgot to bring one of my water bottles to work so I drank tea most of the day. Well, I kept filling my tumbler with water until it was really just tea flavored water. This is how I used to drink my water. I’ll remember to bring one of my bottles tomorrow.
  • I walked to the library again during lunch. I didn’t get to sit in my usual spot but I didn’t mind. I was really just there to listen to my book while playing games on my phone. ๐Ÿ˜‰

20 October – mardi

  • Happy Birthday, Neal!
  • Song: “You’re My Favourite Song” Ryan Gosling
  • Back in the Napster days (or thereabouts), Ryan Gosling’s song “Put Me In the Car” was out there and I nabbed it. I never knew that there were a couple of other songs out there (maybe more?) until recently. I wonder if Ryan still writes and sings for himself and his loved ones. Are there more Ryan Gosling songs out there from the turn of the century? If he ever releases music, I’m buying it. You know I am.

  • Song: “Speakers” Sam Hunt
  • I’m listening to Sam Hunt with my headphones on and dang, I’m remembering how much I just LOVED listening to him. Well, I do still love listening to him but not with the same fervor as in the beginning. And then I listen to him like this and wow. I get it, past V, I get it.
  • I walked to the library again today. It’s supposed to rain sometime this week and I wonder if it’ll interrupt my during lunch break walk. I hope not but we shall see!

  • I keep missing the anniversary of meeting Trevor Guthrie and seeing soulDecision. It was on the 14th, twenty-six years ago. I wish I had a picture of the moment. Darn it for me taking heed of not bringing a camera directive to the venue. Alas!
  • I love when the techie YouTubers I follow repost when I tag them. ๐Ÿ˜€

21 October – mercredi

  • The iPhone Duo reviews are out! I’ll have to watch a couple of them later. I’m super curious about the phone.
  • It looks cloudy out there this morning. Is there a possibility of rain today? Hmm, looks like tonight into tomorrow. I’ll update later. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • It rained this afternoon! Thank goodness it happened after lunch time because I was able to walk to the library and enjoy a seat by the big windows. ๐Ÿ™‚

22 October – jeudi

  • It rained during the night and it’s still raining now. It’s a light rain but still! So nice. And it’s nice and cool. I’m actually going to wear a sweater today. I hope I don’t get too hot.
  • Song: “Bartender in Destin” Riley Green

  • It rained most of the day and even though it was light during my lunch break, I stayed inside. I didn’t want to chance walking in too much rain on the way back to the office. This gave me a chance to read more chapters of the ARC on my Kindle. I’m almost finished with it.

23 October – vendredi

  • I went a bit out of order today in my routine. Instead of doing my hair right after the shower, I ironed the clothes first. This gave my hair a chance to air dry. I ended up in the same place when all was said and done. Interesting.
  • I think watching an almost hour podcast with Cherlynn Low and Michael Fisher last night lead to me dreaming something about Michael Fisher. I wish I could remember what it was about but I know it was just talking and the like. Something about him doing acting in his early days? I dunno. Dreams are interesting.
  • I’m going to wear one of my hoodies today. I’m leaning towards Cowboy Tears but Riley Green could be making a case to be the one. I opened up my winter clothes tote yesterday and realized that I have a lot of hoodies. Why do I have so many hoodies?! Oh, I remember seeing my Ireland sweatshirt. I like that one, maybe it’ll be the one I wear. But I bet not.

24 October – samedi

  • It’s Saturday morning and it’s not even 50F yet! GLORIOUS!

  • Yesterday’s hoodie was Cowboy Tears. I was fine most of the day but I did get a little warm a few times. I didn’t mind too much. I’m really digging that hoodie. And lo, if you go to the page for the hoodie, I’m the one review so far! Nice!

25 October – dimanche

  • Happy Birthday, Marni!
  • I left the house today for a hair cut. I wonder if I need to get a curling iron now. She curled my hair with one and it came out so nicely!
  • We watched the HBO documentary, A Killer Story. Why do these shows fascinate me so much? The documentary ends without a truly clear conclusion but it was still very fascinating.

TV/BOOKS

VisionQuest – We’re already halfway through the series! I’m really enjoying it. It’s keeping me hooked for sure. I do wonder why they’re dropping the episodes two a week but I’ll take it!

You’re Overthinking This by Diana Urban – I was lucky to score an ARC of this story and finally finished it! I think the story is better served read in chunks, as opposed to pieces like I did. The FMC was anxious with such nervous energy and it made me anxious as a reader. It didn’t really hit me until nearly the end that she was a bit of an unreliable narrator but it works for the story. When I get the hard copy (I pre-ordered it), I’m going to re-read it with more intention.

The Tapestry of Fate by Shannon Chakraborty – This is the second book featuring Amina al-Sirafi. The audiobook is excellent! I’m enjoying this second installment of the pirate captain. I might have to buy the physical books just to have. So good!

Heart of Glass by Jennifer Hillier – Yes, I’m still reading this one. I think I need to carry this one with me or something because why is it taking so long for me to read it? Ye gods!

The Random Bits

  • I wore my Xena/Herc vest today and it allowed me to leave the house without a purse. The vest jacket has a fantastic amount of pockets! LOVE IT!
  • The weather is set to cool down this week. THANK GOODNESS. I’m ready to wear the sweaters and hoodies and jackets and such. Bring it on!
  • I keep watching videos on the iPhone Duo. It looks like a neat-oh device but I’m glad that I made the choice of getting the Z Fold8, as opposed to waiting for the iPhone Duo. I need my main phone to be dependable and it would have been a little scary for my daily driver to be a phone that’s the first of its kind. I am super lucky that I can have a secondary phone, which allows me to experiment with foldables. It’s unlikely that I’ll have an iPhone foldable in the near future.

Here’s to a good week! ๐Ÿ™‚
