11/11 - Yesterday my father passed away. He slippe

11/11 - Yesterday my father passed away. He slipped away in his sleep and journeyed into the next. He had a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Even in his last days, he had a smile on his face for family and friends and the hospital staff who cared for him. He fought hard but somehow he knew he was going home on Tuesday.

How did he know?

Dad loved life. He loved singing. He loved going to the marina. He loved his family so very deeply.

My memories are filled with his laughter and his karaoke. I remember the family parties with the poker games. I remember the bike rides on the weekends to the doughnut shop. I remember so much more. You always wish for more time and then it’s gone.

I miss him already. I hope he knows that I love him very much. Always.
