back from break

12 October – lundi

  • Song: “P.O.S.” Riley Green
  • It’s about 50F right now and I’m LOVING IT. The high today is supposed to be in the low 70s. We warm up after today but hopefully not by too much. Please?
  • I had the weirdest dream before waking up. I was taking a shower but I was also in bed (what?!) and I forgot to wash my hair so I had to go back and wash it. But while I was sitting bed? So freakin’ weird.

  • I took my once routine walk during my lunch break. Since the weather was cool enough, I had no excuse to not walk, so I walked. I was happy there was an empty seat by the window on the second floor. Yah! I was listening to my latest audiobook while I was there. ๐Ÿ™‚

13 October – mardi

  • Song: “Radio Road” Riley Green
  • I should get ready sooner rather than later. They’re going to slurry our street today and I want to make sure I can leave!

  • I was able to leave before the slurrying started. Yah! I got to work a bit early though. ๐Ÿ˜›
  • After eating my lunch, I walked to the library and this time my actual favorite spot was available. YES!
  • I started re-reading one of my previous November novels and I thought, “Oh, this one isn’t so bad.” The MMC is played by Chris Evans and he is fantastic in it. I wonder if I should have other people read it. The spice level might be a bit much for some folks. Hmm.

14 October – mercredi

  • Song: “Think As You Drunk” Riley Green

  • Ben Barnes got married! He posted to his IG today. Pretty pictures of a pretty couple. ๐Ÿ™‚
  • I walked to the library again. Good for me! And there was a spot for me to sit by the window on the second floor. I’m listening to The Tapestry of Fate by Shannon Chakraborty. It’s the second book telling the adventures of Amina Al-Sarafi. I’m enjoying it! Amina is a fun character to follow. On the Kindle, I’m reading the ARC for Diana Urban’s upcoming novel, You’re Overthinking This. I should probably read that for more than ten to fifteen minutes at a time, I think.

  • My supervisor got a box of freshly picked corn delivered and she shared! The corn was picked this morning and brought to her before lunch. I took some ears and ended up having them as part of our dinner. Yes to Brentwood corn!

15 October – jeudi

  • Song: “Ol’ Stray Dog” Riley Green
  • I have just a couple of minutes before I get up and get ready for work. Riley Green is playing on the boom box and it’s quiet outside. I have the window open and a candle lit. It’s pretty.
right now
  • I walked to the library again but I didn’t get to sit at my usual spot. Alas!
a different view on the second floor
  • Not as picturesque as the other view from the second floor but it didn’t really matter since I was just sitting there listening to my audiobook.
  • Today’s weather started with a nip and ended with a nice sort of warmth.
  • Song: “Baby Come Back” Player

And now it’s the weekend! I didn’t write here the last couple of days. Oops!

TV/MOVIES

Sacrifice – This one was beautifully shot. Chris Evans was the reluctant hero and full of angst and insecurity and desire for something real. I wasn’t sure how to take this movie. I feel like it wanted to say something and perhaps it did but it was also a bit predictable. It’s always nice seeing Evans in something, so on that point it was worth watching.

VisionQuest – Yes to a new show! I’m already hooked. I’ve been waiting to see how we’d meet Tommy and here we go! It already feels like this show is going to be a nice way to tie up those loose ends from WandaVision and Agatha All Along. This show is definitely not shy about showing the violence. Oh, and I am LOVING seeing Todd Stashwick as Paladin. He is a super treat to watch.

Logan – We hadn’t seen this one in a long while and after watching a behind-the-scene video regarding Dafne Keen, we watched Logan. Still holds up! It’s a more intimate film than the other X-Men movies. So gritty and raw. And Dafne Keen was a freakin’ joy to watch. So talented!

The Random Roundup:

  • It’s the 18th! So…
    • Happy Birthday, Andrea!
    • Happy Birthday, Riley Green!
  • The weather is supposed to take a turn starting tomorrow. We might even get rain. Is it going to be time for boots? We shall see!

Here’s to a good week! I’m going to pin down what I want to write for November. It’s all just whirling through my head right now and I need to start pulling on the ideas. ๐Ÿ™‚
