I had a great time at WonderCon. I enjoyed the panels we attended and it was fun to walk the floor and check out all the stuff. So much stuff! And so many people! I’m sure Saturday was super packed but Sunday seemed pretty full to me.
We hopped on BART at the Pittsburg/Bay Point station, which is nice because it’s the beginning of the line. We could choose our seats and relax all the way to San Francisco. I think WonderCon is the only time I ever ride on BART. I still find it slightly fascinating and it’s neat to see the different parts of the Bay Area as we roll by. I listened to my Nano and took a bit of a nap.
Yesterday was GORGEOUS with the blue skies, sunshine and moderate temperatures. Couldn’t ask for a better looking day. We walked from the Powell station to the Moscone Center, got the hubby’s ticket, and wandered the convention floor for a bit.

Mmmm, THOR… I’m going to see this one…
Me posing nerd-like with my pass to the convention
I must say thanks to my cousin Carl for letting me use his pass for the Sunday. Thank you! 🙂
Our goal for the day was to attend the panels for Terra Nova, Human Target, and V. We ended up sitting in for the tail end of the Doctor Who as well as ThunderCats.
Doctor Who
I wouldn’t have minded sitting for the whole panel but I haven’t watched a moment of Doctor Who, so I wouldn’t have known what was happening. We went in before it ended and got t-shirts, so yah! LOL! Mark Sheppard (he of Supernatural and Leverage and Warehouse 13 among others) was part of the panel, as was Neil Gaiman. The bit I saw of the panel was interesting and made me want to watch the show. LOL!
Terra Nova
They showed us a long promo of Terra Nova and it’s just freakin’ gorgeous. I’ll watch it, I think. 🙂 The panel included Alex Graves, Brannon Braga, Stephen Lang, and Jason O’Mara.
Jason O’Mara tweeted for the first time after taking a picture of the crowd. How cute is that? LOL! And can I just say he had a lovely voice? The light Irish accent is just yummy. 😉
just a quick vid of Jason O’Mara
ThunderCats
It was quite interesting to watch a panel about something I don’t really know. LOL! It’s amazing how much people know and remember from the old show and what kind of questions they have for the new show.
Human Target
I really do enjoy this show and I hope it gets renewed for a third season. This panel included Mark Valley, Janet Montgomery, Jackie Earle Haley, and Matthew Miller.
Mark Valley and Jackie Earle Haley are cool but I just loved listening to Janet Montgomery. She doesn’t get to use her accent on Human Target, so it was great to hear it during the panel. And she’s absolutely gorgeous. 🙂
Janet Montgomery and her take on Vancouver
I want the show to come back. I’m selfish that way. LOL!
V
I’m going to be honest here– I watch the show because of Charles Mesure. If Charles Mesure had not been on the show, I probably would have stopped watching after the first season. But since he’s on the show, I endure it and oftentimes enjoy it. But I am not what one would call a diehard for V. Sure, I think Elizabeth Mitchell and Morena Baccarin are simply AWESOME in their respective roles. And yes, it’s super great to see Joel Gretsch on tv again after a great run on The 4400. And okay, I’m thankful that I discovered Mark Hildreth. Oh, and Laura Vandervoort is not only hot, she’s talented to boot. Yet in spite of all that comes from V, I would not watch it if it were not for Charles Mesure.
There, I said it.
I should probably also add that I am a fan of the show but not because it’s a reboot of the original but on its own merits. So as much as everyone else is excited that Jane Badler and Marc Singer have made appearances on the show, I’m more interested in how their characters affect the main players. I thought Jane Badler’s Diana was an intriguing character and certainly served her purpose as Anna’s thorn. As for Marc Singer’s character, I’ll save my opinion on his character for next season.
Still, I was glad that V was represented at WonderCon. I had half hoped that Charles Mesure would make an appearance but he did not. 😛 The panel for V was Elizabeth Mitchell, Marc Singer, and Scott Rosenbaum.
I adore Elizabeth Mitchell. And she was so lovely! She was very generous in her praise of her co-stars and was genuinely touched by the fans who took the mic.
Elizabeth Mitchell and her lovely self
I want this show back too. But only if Charles Mesure is coming back with it. 😉
So that was pretty much our day at WonderCon. A bit of wandering and mostly sitting in on the panels. We had a late lunch/early dinner at Chevy’s then headed back home on BART. A good day spent…
OMG NERDIST! I’m so jealous on so many levels!
You got to ride the BART! You got to go to a
convention! And you have a dope camera! Green
with envy, I am! That was my Yoda impression.
My camera ran out of juice! Good thing I brought a back-up. LOL! Oh, and I had my phone too, so I could have used that for pics as well. BART is fun when you only do it once year like I do. 😉
