- Whole house fan is on for a bit longer then it’ll be time to close the windows. It’s supposed to be another hot day today, somewhere in the high 90s. Ye gods!
06 October – mardi
- What, I have to go to work today? Boo! I shouldn’t really complain. I only have to work three days this week. Yes! Still, boo.
- I had three deliveries yesterday! I was definitely expecting two of them and was pleasantly surprised by the third. I now have three of the bonus tracks Riley Green added to his album. Joy! My latest piece from Cowboy Tears arrived, along with bonus socks and a sticker (yes to the sticker!) plus the sweetest note ever. When Sabina knows it’s me, she writes the loveliest notes. LOVE her. And the surprise was Harry Connick Jr.’s book, which I had ordered earlier this year. Yes to more books!
- Today I got another delivery. Yes, another bandana! I don’t have another Tiffany blue bandana, so how could I resist? Plus it really just cost me shipping. Nice. ๐
07 October – mercredi
- It’s going to be another hot day today. I hope second summer doesn’t last much longer because I would really like to start wearing my flannels and hoodies.
- Even though it’s clean hair day, I put my hair into fishtail braids. I might wear a hat, something green. I’m going to end up in Cowboy Tears or Riley Green, I think. ๐
- It was a quiet day at work, which is just how I like it. I was able to get through the updating of board policies and administrative regulations. What a chore!
08 October – jeudi
- I keep hoping each new day will bring more moderate temperatures but it looks like we’ll be somewhere in the 90sF again today. Bah.
- It was another quiet day at work. I had my lunch in the conference room this week since no one else was working in my building and while at lunch today, someone tried knocking on the front door. I looked over but I did not get up because I was on my break. Later, I had someone come in regarding residency verification. I could only make copies of what they brought and I really didn’t want to hear their story because it wasn’t really any of my business and I couldn’t help them anyway.

- Tyler’s new song is so good! It’s got a rock vibe and the music just draws you in. The lyrics have such depth. It’s a heart squeezer. Give it a spin.
10 October – samedi
- Song: “Be Her” Ella Langley
- I didn’t do much yesterday, as evidenced by how little I wrote. I ended up watching some YouTube, reading a bit, starting Agatha All Along again, writing a bit. Oh, and I did do a load of laundry so it wasn’t all unproductive. ๐
- There’s a light, cool breeze coming through that open window and I love it. We have Oktoberfest downtown today and maybe I can wear jeans. I’ll probably end up in my overall shorts but we shall see. Maybe I’ll bring one of my digicams with me, go old school with the picture taking.
11 October – dimanche

- It’s just after midnight and I’m not sleepy because I took a nap. I took a nap because we went to Oktoberfest and I had a couple of drinks and they were apparently enough for me to need a rest afterwards. It was probably the walking around and drinking that did it, I think. I’m a lightweight but am I that much of a lightweight?
- After a hot week, the cooler weather was most welcome, especially while walking downtown. Will it be sweater weather soon?
It’s been 11 months since Dad died. The 49ers won today, so he would have been happy about that. And fancy that, finding an old photo of him in a Niner jacket with his arm around Mom.
How is it almost a year since he’s been gone? After he passed away, it felt like time was crawling. Now here we are, almost a year later. So much has changed. So much has been sent to memories. And life goes on.

Ted Lasso – The season ended on a good note, with just enough threads for more seasons, should they get renewed. I hope they get renewed. I read that there is a 3-season plan for the current storyline. So let’s do it!
I’m glad the weather is finally cooling off. We’re supposed to be mostly in the 70s this week with some warming back to the 80s later in the week. Can we just get to the part where I can wear sweaters and hoodies? Please?
I will hopefully have my November novel figured out very soon. It’s looking like the prequel to my current story is the frontrunner. Maybe I need to do it from a different point of view? I think I did a prequel story a few years ago. No one is ever going to read that one. ๐
