I know folks like to think of Labor Day weekend as the “end” of summer but when the temperatures stay in the 80s and the calendar says that autumn starts later in September, I’m going with the calendar. The weather seems work on the calendar’s time as opposed to the holiday celebrating workers. Ya know? 😉
We headed out on Saturday to check out Rasputin Music then Flying Colors Comics, ending with an early dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory. We bought music and a DVD at Rasputin and I bought a couple of books and stickers at Flying Colors. It was great wandering though Rasputin and finding some gems. We bought $20 dollars worth of CDs, an album, and a DVD. Doesn’t sound like much but when the CDs are 50 cents, well, there you go. This was our first time at Flying Colors’ new location and it’s a nicely organized spot. I ended up with something Superman, something Marvel, and two stickers.
Since we were in the area and it was time to eat, we ended up at Old Spaghetti Factory. I LOVE the Old Spaghetti Factory. I always tell myself that “next time,” I’m going to get something different but I always end up getting the mizithra. I do so love the mizithra!
TV
Dark – We finished this series this weekend. What a fantastically twisty ride! I am all about cause and effect, time loops, mulitple universes, paradoxes, and the rest, so this show definitely scratched that itch. I wonder what it was like to watch this show when it first came out and having to wait for the next season. I refrained from reading about the show while we watched and I was rewarded by the plot twists and revelations. There’s a darkness, of course, but there was something hopeful at the end.
Wednesday – The rest of season two is online. We’ve watched a couple of episodes today. Enjoying it all so far, of course. The body switch episode was good. Looking forward to the rest of it…
Random stuff in bullets:
- Why did I sit and do screenshots of Riley Green’s appearance on Fallon? I suppose I’m still a fangirl at heart. Or maybe I wanted to be productive of sorts while I watched his appearance and performance of “Make It Rain.” I swear, every time I think I’m cooling off a little on him, I know it’s not to be as I watch him singing or being interviewed.
- Now that we’re back on Apple Music, I’ve started listening to the OPM Apple playlist. And of course, I’ve gotten attached to a couple of new songs and added them to my library. I also happened upon a singer, Elliot James Reay, who sounds like old school ’50s and ’60s singers. I’m digging his music.
- The woman who put hands on that dad for a freakin’ BASEBALL deserves the karma coming her way. I said this on social media but I’ll say it again– a ball loose in the stands is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. If no one has the ball, it’s a free for all. Good on the dad for going after that ball to give to his son for his birthday week. And good on the dad again for doing the right thing and getting that woman out of his face. It’s a bummer he had to give up the ball to that @$$hole but it turned out all right for him and his family as they got to meet the player who hit that home run.
It looks to be cooling down a little this week. I’m looking forward to it. We’re making our way to sweater weather. Maybe it’ll arrive in a few weeks?
