It’s been almost two weeks since my friend Kim died and I still feel like she’s there. I expect to see a tweet about her Habs or a message from her to pop up in our group chat. Of course, it hasn’t happened. She’s gone and it still just shatters me whenever I think of it.
During our group video chats, I like to take screenshots of the group. I don’t usually tell anyone so I end up looking mostly normal while everyone is more candid. The shot above was probably taken while we were all ready for the screenshot. The shot about is one of the only ways I have a picture with Kim. I see her face there and I remember her voice and I miss her. I think she probably would have approved of this screenshot because we’re both smiling.
Her obituary is online now. I haven’t signed the guestbook yet. I will. I’m just not sure when…
TV
Peacemaker [HBO Max] – I’m really enjoying this show. The hubby asked if I would have watched it if it wasn’t James Gunn and I answered, no, I would not. But it is James Gunn and he has not disappointed with this show…
Reacher [Amazon Prime] – We just totally binge watched this whole show this weekend. First of all, Alan Ritchson makes a GREAT Jack Reacher. Second, the show is action packed with a good plot. I definitely liked this show a lot and I wouldn’t mind if there was another season…
Sky Rojo [Netflix] – So after we finished The Envoys, I was curious about Miguel Àngel Silvestre and decided to watch Sky Rojo. The episodes are about 30 minutes or so each, so easy batches of watching. I can even watch during my lunch break at work! It’s definitely an adult oriented show so if you watch it, be prepared. I decided to watch it in the original language (European Spanish) with English subtitles because my Spanish is woefully inadequate. There are currently two seasons up on Netflix with third coming sometime in 2022. I’m trying not to blaze through all the episodes but it’s so easy when they’re short episodes. The hubby isn’t watching it with me though I think he’d like it…
LIFE STUFF
The past week was my first without my boss. I have so much to keep me busy, which is a blessing and a curse in some ways, but it also just goes to show that life moves on even as things change. The work is always there and it always needs to get done.
My busy time started on the 1st. TRANSFERS! So many forms to log, so many questions to answer. I have so much on my desk and I’m trying not to be overwhelmed. I just keep plugging away because no matter what I’m doing, there’s still more to do. And it’ll get done, eventually.
On Thursday, I was part of the interview panel for my new boss! So, hopefully, one of the people we interviewed that day will end up in the position. Is it weird that I enjoyed the whole process? The interview panel consisted of a fair amount of people from different parts of the district. There were set questions, which certainly challenged some of the candidates as far as time management. It was interesting at the end, when all of us gave our rankings and the reasons why. It seemed like there was a general consensus on the “favorite.” I’m wondering which one will end up with the job. I was glad to be part of the process…
Have you guessed who’s new on my fangirl crush list?
