TWITL – week twenty-two – heading towards summer

We’re in June now and I am not ready for the hot weather even though we’ve been getting days here and there of summer weather. I’m still not ready for it. I’d rather have cooler weather always.

MOVIES

Interceptor [Netflix] – What a fun movie! There were infuriating moments which made the deaths of the bad guys ever so satisfying but for the most part, it was a lot of fun to watch. Elsa Pataky is freakin’ KICK ASS. Give it a watch and look for that cameo. The guy in the electronics store was HILARIOUS.

TV

Obi-Wan Kenobi – I am digging this show. I think my favorite character so far is the little one. She is so much fun to watch. And sure, Obi-Wan. Or Ben, as he likes to call himself now. Did we need this show? Well, why the heck not? (I’m sure people have many reasons as to why not but I’m not one of them.)

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – “Spock Amok” was a fun watch. I love this show and Spock is definitely a big reason. And lo, the Enterprise is such a pretty ship. But back to Spock– he is such an interesting character. I’ve always been fascinated by him and I know that many of the Star Trek books I read over the years focused on Spock and the Vulcans. I liked seeing deeper into Spock and his relationship with T’Pring. They’re well depicted and I’m trying not to think about what’s supposed to happen to them canonically. (Although as this series is likely just about Pike’s time, we won’t actually see how it ends for Spock and T’Pring.)

The T-Mobile home internet has been pretty decent so far. I hope it keeps working out because it’ll rock to get rid of Comcast/Xfinity. The only thing that we’re really lose is Peacock and if we really want it, we could just add it our list of streaming subscriptions.

As we’re trying out T-Mobile as our home internet, we’re also checking out Hulu Live as our live TV provider. So far, so good. Sometimes I think we don’t need live TV but we seem to be watching it a bit more than usual lately, mostly sporting events.

the HP Chromebook x2 11

Still really enjoying my Chromebook. I started this post on it but I’m now on my PC as I’m listening to an album in our computer/music room. (Norah Jones’ Come Away with Me.) I’ve probably used my Chromebook almost every day since I’ve gotten it. I’ve downloaded a few mobile games, I use the Cursive app, I’ve started doing screenshots on it. It’s a great device and I want to take it out of the house one day and tether it to my phone and see how it works on that end. The battery hasn’t crapped out on me at all so far…

Just four more days of school for the kids out this way and then it’s summer break. I’m so ready for it! I’m still figuring out what days I’m going to take off during break. I love my long weekends and I think I’m going to go ahead and take the week of 4th of July off. Long weekends and a week off will be fabulous!

Here’s to a good week!
