Well, this is a good start to the new year. We just finished watching the very brilliant and moving and brutal WARRIOR. I absolutely recommend it.
WARRIOR stars Joel Edgerton, Tom Hardy, and Nick Nolte. Edgerton and Hardy play brothers, the sons of Nolte’s character. Everyone is pretty much estranged for various reasons. A mixed martial arts event is the backdrop and so goes from there.
The action is so brutal and I loved it. Tom Hardy must have worked really hard on his body because he looks awesome. The fight sequences are so real and cringe worthy as well as adrenaline pumping.
The drama plays out so well within the the movie and the final fighting sequence brings together everything in the movie.
I CRIED during this movie. It just pulls at you in so many ways. I hope to see it mentioned come awards time. The movie needs to be nominated. I have seriously not seen such a powerful movie in a very long, long time.
